I live there now

2012

I am in my mother's room. It's I who live there now.
(
Thomas Beckett, Malone)

I live there now is a trio of small-scale works that, like the earlier series Revisitations, were created as pictures then installed in unique handmade wooden cases. They come from a single visit — the last — to the house where Rodick grew up and in which his parents lived for over four decades. Filled to bursting with books, pictures, documents, and magazines — his parents were sellers of books of all kinds, their house a storage place and emporium more than a home — this setting was formative in the development of Rodick’s life and sensibility.
