Based on the life and death of Frank Rodick’s father, below are the six images of the series Joseph. Embedded in each image — save for the last — is text, written in Joseph Rodick’s hand as he lay dying — a man’s last words. The artist constructed each work from photographs of his father, found images from his childhood right up to the final photograph taken by his son at Joseph’s deathbed.
